Simply Giving Automated Program Now Available

Now is the time to take advantage of the Simply Giving automated giving program offered by Thrivent. Through this program you can initiate weekly direct withdrawal of your offering from your checking account. If you are currently taking advantage of Simply Giving, now would be a good time to make adjustments. Applications may be picked up from the tract rack in the back of the sanctuary and dropped off at the church office.

Hospital Care Givers Needed

If you are interested in visiting members of St. John's when they are in the hospital please contact Pastor Neal. If you are already serving and would like to review/discuss, please contact pastor. He will be happy to tell you about the program. Thank you!

WHERE DO I
SIGN UP TO BE A
WORSHIP SERVICE STEWARD?

Sign up to be a Worship Service Steward when you're called, or, on the clipboards as they make the rounds in the pews, or just call the office, 371-1985. The clipboards can also be found on the table in the back of the sanctuary before/after services. A BIG Thank You goes out to all the many Worship Service Stewards!

JUST CLICK HERE

St. John's has joined the Cartridge World recycling program. This program provides a convenient location for collecting empty inkjet and laser cartridges while raising funds for our church. Our church will receive up to $3 for each cartridge we collect from our members. Drop any cartridges in the drop box located in the hallway near the church office. All cartridges are welcome. BEACON Articles Deadline
15th of every month
Email:
beacon@stjohnsnorfolk.org

If you wish to have something placed in the weekly church bulletin or the Beacon PLEASE have it into the office by the deadlines above. The bulletins are printed every Friday morning by volunteers. The Beacon has to be put together, printed, assembled and mailed out by the end of the month - all by volunteers.

Please have someone from your group write up the article. Your group knows more than the office staff about the subject. The office staff will be happy to help put the information into an appealing format if you desire.

The article may be emailed to the email addresses above or dropped off in the church office. If the office is closed, please place it in the office mailbox in the hallway. There is a slot marked "OFFICE" in the center column.

Putting the bulletins and newsletter together is made so much easier when deadlines are followed.

Shop For Ministry Cards!

Shop for Ministry cards may be purchased in the office during regular office hours (8-12 & 1-5 Monday through Friday.) HyVee and Lou's cards are available along with Equal Exchange coffees, teas, or chocolates. (The church retains 5%)

Norfolk Public Transportation
Now Runs on the Weekends

Norfolk Public Transportation now runs on the weekends as well as during the week. On Saturday and Sunday the buses will run from 7:30 am - 4:30 pm. Call 379-4595 for more information or to schedule a ride.

The Prayer Chain is available for prayer requests for yourself or a loved one. Call the office at 371-1985, Yvonne Schlake or e-mail requests to: stjohn@conpoint.com

"You will pray to Him
and He will hear you."

The floral centerpieces on the tables in the Fellowship Hall are free for any group to use here in the church. They are labeled and stored in plastic totes in the storage closet outside the kitchen door. Please feel free to use them for any occasion. They make the tables a little more welcoming and cheerful. Just return them to their appropriate container after use.

Sound System Operators Needed

Please step up and fulfill this need at St. John's. The sound system is very important during services. Call the office, 371-1985, or Dorothy Lederer if you are interested in learning how to operate the sound sytem. It is not as difficult as you may think!

Come up to the balcony at the Saturday or 8:30 service to see just how simple running the sound system really is. Observe a couple of services and see if this is a service you can do. No appointment, no obligation. Walk up or you can also call Mark Nelson or Ron Benson.
